Welcome to a new creative photography workshop in the heart of the hills of the Cévennes, Southern France

A small-group, nature-inspired workshop exploring colour, texture and creative photography
I am delighted to share a special collaboration with Wendy Bagnall, for this Learning Insights photography retreat, in the breathtakingly beautiful Cévennes region of Southern France, a place I am lucky enough to call home.
Les Cévennes; a national park and UNESCO World Heritage site, is a land of rugged hills, winding rivers, ancient stone terraces and vast open skies. One of France’s wildest and least populated regions, it remains largely untouched by tourism, a rare sanctuary where light and colour shift dramatically with the seasons. This is a landscape that rewards patience and curiosity and promises endless creative opportunities.
Wendy and I share complementary ways of approaching creative photography and this retreat will enable you to explore ICM, in-camera multiple exposures and multiple exposures curated using Adobe Photoshop.
This retreat is about connection with the landscape, personal interpretation and creative development.
The environment will be one of support and encouragement, where all skill levels are welcome, no matter where you are at in your photography journey.
*To fully benefit from this workshop, you will need to have your own laptop with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Our home for the five days is Mas Rouveyrac, a restored 350m stone mas, set within 27 acres of traditional Cévennes terraces, chestnut groves, and meandering streams. Panoramic views stretch in every direction, offering photographic inspiration from dawn to dusk. Renovated using eco-conscious methods, the house combines rustic charm with warmth and comfort. There will be plenty of time to unwind in the natural pool, relax in the wood-fired sauna, or simply sit quietly absorbing the stillness.
All meals are included and are freshly prepared on site using seasonal Mediterranean ingredients and enjoyed on one of several terraces, an opportunity for long unhurried gatherings immersed in nature, forming new friendships.
What is included
• 5 nights and 4 full days creative photography retreat, from Sunday 6th to Friday 11th September 2026 at an all inclusive price of £2900
*Unfortunately due to old stone steps at the gîte this workshop is not suitable for those with limited mobility.
• Accommodation at Mas Rouveyrac, a traditional French Gîte and all meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner. Drinks are included.
• 5 double en-suite rooms on a single occupancy basis, one of which has a shared bathroom with a workshop leader (this room will be offered at a 10% discount on the full booking price and will be made available to the first person who requests it).
• 2 workshop leaders; Wendy Bagnall and Lou Sayers
• Complimentary transport to and from Montpellier airport to the accommodation at an agreed time and all transport to workshop locations.
• Hands on tuition in the field - moderate fitness required.
• Image reviews and post processing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
What is not included
• Pilates in the pilates studio and massages at the gîte. These will be available to reserve at a later date .
• Transport to and from your home destination to Montpellier airport.
• Personal camera insurance
• Personal holiday insurance (to protect yourself before and during your trip, we strongly advise you take out your own travel insurance)
